2009 Meetings
ABAC meets four times a year to develop its report and recommendations on trade and investment liberalisation.
Wellington (February 2009)
ABAC New Zealand, in conjunction with the Asia New Zealand Foundation, hosted the first ABAC meeting of the year in Wellington on 9-12 February 2009.
The meeting in Wellington was attended by some 140 delegates, staff, ABAC secretariat and partners. The Prime Minister John Key announced the appointment of Gary Judd QC to the APEC Business Advisory Council of New Zealand.
The first meeting for 2009 had a strong focus on the global financial crisis and ways in which economies could mitigate its effects.
In keeping with the APEC goals of free and open trade and investment, the Wellington agenda also covered regional economic integration, business sustainability, climate change, doing business behind borders, energy security, trade facilitation, food security, the role of small and medium enterprises, and measures to further liberalise the flow of goods and services within the region.

Brunei (May 2009)
The second meeting for 2009 was held in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darrussalam from 12-15 May. A report from the meeting can be found here.
